Out of the five pillars of Islam shown in the presentation, (Shahada, Salat, Sawm, Hajj, and Zakat). What two pillars do you find most beneficial to the religion.

  1. I think that the Zakat and the Salat are the most beneficial to the religion. The Zakat is a donation to the poor Muslims. I think that this is very important because it allows Muslims to be generous and it also helps the poor Muslims get back on their feet. The Salat is praying 5 times a day. I think that this is important because it allows Muslims get closer to Allah and truly find themselves.

  2. I think the Zakat and Salat are beneficial to the religion. The Zakat is beneficial because people need to donate 2.5% of their earnings to charity. This helps the religion because people are reminded that they are a community that need to help each other. Salat also is beneficial because it reminds people to have god on their minds everyday.

  3. Thanks for the posts guys, I would have to agree with what both of you said. I agree that the Salat is very important because of the way it keeps god on your mind all day

  4. I think Zakat and Salat are the most important pillars out of the five. Zakat is important because it helps muslims to get closer to society and really get involved. It is also beneficial to society because well charity is always helpful. The Salat is beneficial because the muslims get a chance to be more in touch with their religious side by being able to pray five times a day. They also get to be more in sync with Allah.

  6. I agree with Lara and Lauren when they say that the Zakat and the Salat are the most beneficial to the religion. The reason that the Zakat is most important is because it resembles a tax in the empire. Some of the characteristics of the empire include: having diverse people and goods, creating bureaucratic administrations, AND collecting a tax. If there is no money going towards the benefit of the empire, then nothing is going to get done. This also helps with perspective of all of the people in the empire. The poor are not so bitter towards the rich, and the rich feel more sympathetic towards the poor. The Salat is also an important pillar because it makes sure that the people are always reminded of God's presence. It reminds them of why they are Muslims and the ideology of the Islam religion. Both of those are the most important pillars to me.
